After the US, South America and Europe, Just for Kicks (www.JustForKicksMovie.com) was recently released in theatres in Tokyo, Japan. The film opened in the Shibuya area at a theatre called Cinequinto (www.cinequinto.com). Cinequinto is a renowned independent theatre that has released the likes of “Buffalo 66”, “Memento”, “Drumline” and “Metallica: some kind of Monster”. Just for Kicks will be featured there during 8 weeks straight. Shortly after its release the film was booked at THEATRE N (also located in Shibuya): http://www.theater-n.com/.
Various a talk-show events were hosted at the theatre before the film featuring local hip-hop artists and renowned sneaker-freaks GORE-TEX, XBS and MURO.
Just for Kicks is released in Japan in partnership with Presidio Corporation.
As part of our marketing push in Japan, we have lined up with two Japanese outfits in sneaker retailer Atmos (http://www.atmos-tokyo.com) and toy creator’s Secret Base (http://www.secret-b.com) to release a new tee-shirt to mark the release of Just for Kicks in Japan. The shirt will be available in black, gray, and white. The back of the shirt reads “For All Sneaker Heads”. The shirt is now available for sale at Atmos.
