Just For Kicks will be featured at the 2nd Annual Hip Hop Mostra (Exhibition), a Hip Hop film exhibition held in Sao Paolo Brazil on August 2-9, 2007. Hip Hop Mostra is produced in partnership by a Brazilian arts and culture organization and 11th Parallel Worldwide from San Francisco. In order to make the event accessible to most of the Brazilian hip hop community (which in Brazil is predominantly young and extremely economically disadvantaged), the festival is set as a free event.
This Festival exposes Brazilian audiences with independent works that they may not have access to and is very well received.
The first annual exhibition was hugely successful - over 6,000 people attended and the event received substantial media coverage through Brazilian media outlets such as MTV Brasil, Globo, TV da Gente (Brazil’s equivalent of BET), Folha de Sao Paulo (Brazil’s equivalent of NY Times). J Dilla and Madlib performed for the opening night party of the first annual exhibition.
